I had the pleasure of photographing Govi and Alex’s Engagement Session at Blue Springs State Park. For centuries, the spring area was home for Native Americans. Blue Rock Springs is the largest spring on the St. Johns River, Blue Spring is a designated Manatee Refuge and the winter home (mid-November through March) to a growing population of West Indian Manatees. to say that we had a great time being there and getting to photograph would be an understatement. So much so- we even grabbed lunch at my favorite vegan spot after!
Govi and Alex met During pharmacy/dental school at a social event in Gainesville and were friends for 3 years before they became a couple. They truly are the perfect match. Govi proposed to Alex during a hike at the summit of a mountain in Croatia overlooking the Mediterranean ocean. Rose petals were flying everywhere due to the wind and a friend captured the moment for them. Being adventure lovers, we choose an outdoor setting that fit their personalities and also their passions for the outdoors. We decided to photography their engagement session at Blue Springs state park during the sunrise to catch the perfect golden lighting. This was my first time photographing there and I went straight to Instagram to see other examples of shoots done at the springs– which got me super excited! The lighting was just incredible and the sun shone through the mature trees. I loved how they both arrived super stylish and glamorous! It created a perfect reflection of them as a couple; two driven professionals who are fun and adventurous.
Hope you enjoy their sneak peek! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding later this year!
I’m so happy to share Carolyn and Philips sneak peek on my blog today! First of all, let me tell you a bit about my girl Carolyn. She loves her dog Mio just as much as I love my baby Bindi (check out the adorable pictures below). We met through an event Planning company where she works while I was photographing an event for them at DR Phillips Center.
We bonded during their engagement session at Bok Towers where we had quite the adventure! We got to enjoy a few long meals together after that! Carolyn is the most bubbly, stylish and kind hearted woman. And then there is Phil- funny, tall, handsome and Carolyn’s love of her life. They are just the perfect pair and I was so honored to be their wedding photographer. Phil and Carolyn met while both were working at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Fast forward a bit to a quiet day when both were off from work. Phil had prepared a beautiful breakfast for them to enjoy. She discovered that Mio had a ring tied to his neck. Phil then got down on one knee and asked Carolyn to spend the rest of her life with him. How Romantic and Sweet!
When asked what they love the most about each other, Carolyn says that she loves Phil’s sense of humour and adventurous spirit while Phil loves her beautiful face and that she enjoys eats weird / exotic stuff (testimonial to his humor!).
The couple tied the knot at the Stunning Bella Collina with a traditional wedding. The venue boast breathtaking views at every glance and has a rustic, Luxurious and Tuscan architecture. I’m in Love with these pictures <3
The wedding season is here along with slowly increasing cooler weather. I have a ton of engagement sessions scheduled along with a handful of proposals over the holidays.
Wedding photography is becoming more and more circulated thanks to image driving social media. Wedding and engagement photography inspirations can be pulled up using Wedding Hashtags on Instagram or on Pinterest. Social media is such an integral part of everyone’s lives now and is how many of my couples discover my work!
That brings me to Sonal and Nirav, who reached out to me after discovering my work online.
Let me just tell you- it was Love at first site. We scheduled a meeting at a chic cafe in Winter Park to chat about her vision. We ended up speaking about our lives, laughing, sharing our love for travels and snapping pictures of our latte’s (she totally gets me!). Fast forward to our scheduled session and I felt like I was photographing old friends. We started the session at Kraft Azalea Garden early in the morning to catch the sunrise and then headed to Rollins College to photograph around the campus. The session continued the next day at one of my favorite locations- Disney’s Boardwalk and we caught a beautiful sunset!
They scheduled two engagement sessions back to back to get a wide variety of images and to fit in more outfit changes. It was TOTALLY worth it!
These images will be displayed at their Wedding this December in India!
Everyone wants to feel their best on the day they are set to get married. However, planning a wedding can be really stressful, and when you’re stressed you may not feel or look your best. Although we’re not here to add more to your planning plate, knowing exactly how to prep for the big day will help you feel great and enjoy your wedding day. I’m sure your bride already has a list for exactly how she will be getting herself ready for your wedding, so here are a few (easy!) things you can do for yourself Enjoy our blog post For Him: Grooming For The Wedding.
Getting in shape for your wedding is a goal almost all brides and grooms set for themselves. And you can start right after, or even before, you pop the question. Starting an exercise regimen is not only great for your mental health, to help keep planning stress at bay, you can slim down or tone up as well! It’s easier than ever to crush your fitness goals with pocket training apps. Whether you like to run or hit the gym for a training session, there’s an app for that. If traditional exercise isn’t your thing, grab your friends for a game of soccer or your fiancé for a tennis match. You will burn calories without even realizing it, because you’ll be having fun!
Start A Skincare Routine
If you want to have glowing and youthful skin for your wedding day, start a routine a few months before the wedding. You want to give your skin time to get used to trying out new products, to avoid any breakouts or spots right before the wedding. This doesn’t have to be complicated! Simply wash your face day and night, and follow up with a hydrating facial moisturizer. Another huge part of skin care is your shaving routine. Use high quality razors and shaving products, such as those from Harry’s, to ensure a closely shaven face that’s free from nicks. Even if you rock a beard or mustache, using proper shaving techniques will help you get straight lines and a neat-looking face.
Try Out Hairstyles
We all know that the bride does a trial run for her wedding day hair and makeup. But as the groom, you should consider doing the same for your hairstyle. If you want to try out a new hairstyle, be sure to do it a few months before your wedding, so you can grow it out if need be. The last thing you want is to meet your fiancé on the aisle with a hairdo you don’t love. However, if you’ve found the look you love, be sure to snap a photo so it can be perfectly replicated right before the wedding.
Whiten Your Teeth
If you are a coffee or red wine enthusiast, you may want to consider whitening your teeth before your big day. Whitening your teeth is easier and quicker than ever with at home products, like these whitening strips from Crest. You will be smiling a lot on your wedding day, and ensuring you have a bright smile will be worth it when you get your wedding photos back! Whitening strips are user-friendly, and only take a half hour out of your day. Plus, you don’t have to think about doing this until a week or two before your wedding, that’s how quick they work!
The Final Touches…
If you’re days away from your wedding but you want to make a few changes to your look, tackling things like your brows and nails can have a big impact! Trimming your brows is easy to do yourself and can be done a couple days before the wedding and they will stay looking great. Trim, file and clean up your nails the morning of so they don’t get dirty beforehand. Paying attention to small details like this show your fiancé that you took pride in how you look as the two of you commit your lives to each other.
