Robert and Julaine’s Engagement Session at Cypress Grove Estate Park

Engagement Session at Cypress Grove Estate

Summer is almost here! This means that we are now entering the wedding photography season. I’m so fortunate to live in Orlando where there are so many amazing parks and lakes. There is an abundance of beautiful photo shoot locations here. After all, Florida is called the sunshine state and Orlando is called the city of Beautiful!

I love to incorporate sunsets in my photo shoots whenever possible. Golden hour lighting (1 hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset) has that ethereal warm glow that looks gorgeous in photographs. I try to schedule all of my photo shoots in the mornings or early evenings. That’s exactly what we did for Robert and Julaine’s Engagement Session at Cypress Grove Estate Park. We caught the gorgeous golden hour light!

Robert and Julaine came to Orlando for their vacation. They are both currently living in Jamaica but love to spend as much time as possible in Florida. Having family living throughout Florida gives them a great excuse to visit often. Robert had set up a surprise proposal for Julaine which he had arranged with Julaine’s family for months. I had the honor of photographing their engagement session just a couple of days after Robert proposed to Julaine. They are truly best friends who love to spend time in the outdoors and traveling. They wanted a natural setting for their engagement photos and had seen some images online that I had taken at Cypress Grove Estate Park. They fell in love with the idea of doing their engagement session there as well. Here is a quick sneak peek of their beautiful images

How do I even start this blog post? It's about to get sentimental. Amanda and Christopher will always have a special place in my heart! I meet them as a recently engaged couple during their engagement session in Winter Park a few years back. I think we laughed and giggled the entire shoot and shared some deep parts of our journeys too. We were then honoured to get to photograph their wedding. It would be the last wedding my Husband and I photographed together before he passed away from cancer just a few months later. He was so sick at the time but made a decision to be a part of capturing their wedding day no matter what. Some clients ask me what will happen if I'm unable to photograph their wedding (which is an important question) - and I'm proud to say that I have never missed a wedding- ever. I photographed a wedding 3 days after my husband passed away. Most people would see this am unbearable task- but I had made a decision that as long as I have two legs and two arms- I will be there. Just like I had been there for Amanda and Christopher documenting some of their most important moments of their lives, they had been there for me while going through some of my hardest moments of my life. I was so happy to find out that Amanda and Christopher were blessed with TWINS. Our reunion was a heartwarming one during our maternity session at Cypress Grove Estate Park. We laughed and caught up just like old friends. The most amazing things is, that Amanda Gave birth just a couple of days after our session! These images are super special to me!

Rebecca and Dennis’s Family Session at Cypress Grove Estate House

Rebecca and Dennis’s Family Session at Cypress Grove Estate House
I Love watching families and their children grow. This was the case when photographing Rebecca and Dennis’s Beautiful family. Their two gorgeous girls grew so much since the last time I did their family portraits. They flew in from the Netherlands for their annual Florida vacation and left in time to dodge the hurricane (Irma). Along with their immediate family members, we headed to Cypress Grove Estate Park to capture some late morning pictures.
I Love photographing at Cypress Grove Estate Park not only because it is a beautiful Park located adjacent to a large lake, but because you don’t need a permit to have a photoshoot there- which is a huge plus, especially for last minute photo shoots.  The Park sits on 80 Acres of perfectly manicured lawns, all on the cusp of Lake Jessamine. The Mature Cypress trees aren’t bad either! They brought along their siblings this time and I had such a blast capturing all of the fun. Rebeccas Parents were also celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary! What a perfect way to capture such a beautiful time in their lives with all of their kids

When my clients whipped out a pair of gorgeously embellished, Royal Blue Indian outfits as their outfit change, my creative senses instantly perked up and my senses enlivened. I strive for diversity. I was highly impressed with my clients sense of style and openness. Being world travelers, Sylvester and his beautiful wife are the main pastors at their church, floodgates of heaven.

We were happy to put a cent in for their preaching mission with these beautiful images.
The portrait session took place at the beautiful Cypress Grove Estate Park, which is conveniently located just a 5 minute drive from our home. It’s hard to believe that its Christmas week already. Growing up in Sweden, It does not feel like Christmas unless the floor is covered with 5 inches of snow. As I get older, I tend to enjoy the summer more than winter. The 80 degree weather during the shoot and endless sun made me realize how lucky we are to live in Florida!
Happy Holidays!
